The Blind Side

I've been watching The Blind Side all day and it is really making me appreciate what I have in life. This is such an amazing story. If you haven't seen it go see it! Here is footage of the real Michael Oher.

The Wonders of Teasing

I love to have defined curls, and I love love love big hair. However, I usually can't have both naturally. So I tease!!! After I diffuse my hair I separate it into sections and tease it with a bristled brush at the root.

After diffusing without any teasing.

Use a bristled brush such as the one you see here.

 After teasing!!

I only recommend teasing if you detangle your hair daily like I do. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that too much teasing cause knots and matting. Happy Teasing!!!!

Impulse Shopper!

Before I buy anything I usually do a lot of research on it....aka YouTube. However, I was watching an old Shake Your Beauty on Essence.com and I came across the EOS shaving cream. I immediately bought it online seconds after Tia Williams explained what it does. I've become an impulse shopper I know I know!!!!!!
The main reason I purchased it was because it was only $3.49, but also because it promised smooth moisturized skin which is something that I don't always receive after shaving. I will be doing a review on the cream this week once I receive it in the mail, but I am excited to try it. Especially since I have been working my butt of in the gym and my legs deserve some time to shine. Here is the video from Essence.com.

Miss Jessie's Quick Curls Review

I was a little worried about spending my money on another product from Miss Jessie's since the Curly Meringue fiasco. However, I was looking for something to really enhance the look and feel of my hair. So I tried it and I must say that I love it. I have been using it for about a month now and it is definitely something I will continue to use in my daily hair routine.

This is my hair when I wake up in the morning without any product in it.

Next I separate the hair into two sections and wet it with a spray bottle. Then I apply a tablespoon amount of the Quick Curls to each section of hair and detangle with a wide tooth comb.

Then I diffuse my hair with the product in it and here are my results.

I really like the results that I get from this product, and there is no build up which I love. This product really does give you velvety smooth lightweight hair. As soon as I place the Miss Jessie's Quick Curls on my hair every tangle leaves immediately without any fuss or fight. This product does what it says it's going to do without weighing your hair down. Overall this product gives you soft lightweight hair with no tangles.

However, I will say that it does not moisturize as much as I would like it to, but Spring is here so I don't need as much moisture as I did in the past few weeks because of the moisture that is already in the air.

You can buy this product and other Miss Jessie's products here.

I'm Blushing!

I am one of those people who can sometimes be skeptical about using certain colors in make up because I'm afraid that my skin will clash terribly. Lately, I have been trying to take steps to get out of that incorrect way of thinking, and have been expanding my color palette. My first step was finding a blush. I didn't really know if it would enhance my face or what color to get, but I asked around and came up with Fever by MAC. I love it! Sometimes I would use it to contour with bronzer, and other times I would apply it to the upper/apple part of my cheeks. I also had to learn that with blush, less is more!

Quick Blush Tip: To change the shade of your blush add some bronzer to the brush before you apply. Mixing the two will create another shade that you'll be sure to love.
You can also buy the blush here.

I got my ELLE with Katy Perry on it last night!! If there was ever a time to buy this magazine it's now. This thing stacked and packed with great ideas and items for the SPRING!

College Fashionista

Lately I have been very busy with fulfilling my purpose and achieving my goals regarding my school and social life. I have been having a hard time blogging because of work and school and all the stress that comes along with it. However, I have been finding encouragement and guidance from various sources. One being College Fashionista. Try to mentally jot down notes in your head like I did during the video. Hopefully you'll get some much needed advice like I did.
