Hey, It's Alicia Keys!!

As some of you may know I love Tippi Shorter. Who is Tippi Shorter? Not only is she my mentor (in my head), she is one of the best hairstylist on the planet! Her work is constantly seen on Alicia Keys and other celebs.

Pictured below is Alicia Keys at the American Music Awards in 2009. I have always loved this hairstyle so I decided to just try it on someone. I didn't do the exact same style that Tippi did, however I still like it.

My Version:

Hope you love the look! Have a great weekend everyone!

Johnny!!!

So it's almost midnight and I am doing my usual song and dance, which is surfing the Internet until I pass out. I browse through Facebook, peruse through a few blogs, and stumble upon a video at Essence.com. There I see my mentor (in my head), Johnny Wright, with Senior Beauty Editor Tasha Turner. While watching the video I am drawn in by Johnny's dazzling personality and commanding spirit. Johnny then goes on about the hair tools from Corioliss, and demonstrates what each tool can be used for. As I'm watching, all I can think is, "I have to get my hands on these tools!". From the video it is clear that Johnny Wright has charisma, charm, and just a likable spirit. However, that special thing that stands out is that he knows what he is doing...and he does it well! Since I want to leave a huge mark on the beauty industry, I take pride in seeing someone else do so as well. I love Johnny Wright, and his career achievements help propel me forward into who I want to be as a hairstylist. Hopefully, one day some student will look at my career and find all the courage, strength, and energy they need to push forward in the beauty industry. Until, then I will search on Corioliss's website and browse through the selection of beauty tools! I wasn't kidding when I said I needed to get my hands on it! To check out more tools from Corioliss you can click HERE

Redheads Have More Fun...

I wanted to show you pictures of this transformation. This guest went from brown to fire engine red!

Here are a few before pictures. These were taken a few weeks ago, after I styled her hair.

Add a little color.......

I also did her makeup! I love this red look, and soon we are going to make it even more intense!

Chop It Off!

Pictured below is a haircut that I did today at school. I already wanted to cut her hair, but I also wanted to revamp her look. As I finished, I gave her bangs and some graduation towards the nape of her neck.

I can't wait to see how it looks curly!

Cheda Get's a New Do

Hello Everyone! I did my friend's hair at school, and I wanted to share the whole process with you all. Since she had a sewn in weave it made the highlighting process a little different.

To get an idea of where she started her are some before pictures.

I got these curls by using a curling wand. To see more curls done with the curling wand click here.

First, I went in a highlighted every other weft (track) of hair. Pictured below is the hair immediately after washing out the lightener.

Before toning the hair, we must dry it first so that the hair strand has room for the color to come in. Here is the hair after a blow dry.

She wanted some red in her hair so I toned every other row of highlights with a red tone.

Then, I went in and gave her a few layers...

Hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions on why I did what I did, or where she bought her hair just comment and I'll respond.

I also wanted to share some pics of my length! I had it pinned up in the video so I could have that short hair look, but without the commitment. My secret to long locks: coconut oil + trims. Tomorrow will mark Day 14 without weave! OMG!

The beautiful butterball with me is Kennedy! Isn't she so adorable!!
